'UNEXPLAINED
PHENOMENA' CAPTURED BY THE CAMERA OF DR. EILEEN PALMER.
Dear
Chalice Well
The enclosed photograph was taken on Saturday July 8th 2000
at approx 12.45 in the Chalice Well Gardens. It was taken
on a Pentax Espiro 928 using Kodacolour Gold 200 and developed
at Hendrens Photoprocessing, Station Street, Cockermouth,
who have no explanation for the unusual lighting effect.
The rest of the film, including adjacent exposures in other
parts of the gardens is completely normal. The unusual lighting
effect is clearly visible on the negative. The shaft of
light appears to be entering (or emerging from) The Lion's
Head area where pilgrims come to drink the water, or collect
it in bottles to take away.
I do believe it is a very beautiful, unusual; and inspiring
photograph, particularly as it was taken by a doctor, in
a place of healing, in an area reputed to be the birth place
of English Christianity, in the year 2000. I find it quite
extraordinary. I have the original photograph and negative.
I would be very interested to know if you are aware of other,
or similar photographs, taken either here or in other places
with reputed healing power.
The Chalice Well Gardens I visited 3 times, in my 4 day
stay….I found them for me a very good and restful space
to which I felt a deep and spontaneous connection.
Yours sincerely
Dr Eileen M Palmer
