Hamish Miller

Hamish Miller visits the Well in 1991

We report with some sadness, that our dear friend and Chalice Well Companion, Hamish Miller, died on 25th January this year. He passed over peacefully and happily at home after a gentle and joyful Burn’s Night with his wife Ba.

A dowser and author of world renown, Hamish was also a blacksmith. In 2003, he was given the task of duplicating the original iron work on the underside of the Chalice Well lid so that the design would be visible no matter whether the lid was open or closed.

Hamish shared his love for and connection to the Chalice Well when he spoke at Companions Day and more recently at the 50th Anniversary Conference in 2009.  His energy, warmth and passion will be missed, but his spirit lives on in all those whose lives he touched and particularly his Parallel Community project.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday 9th February at 2.30pm GMT and many of us will think of him and light a candle at this time.
