Light Spring Celebration '09

This event marked the first festival and celebration in Chalice Well’s 50th anniversary year. Guided by the over-lighting theme of "Many Paths, One Source", everyone present gathered together in the Chalice Well Gardens to mark the first hint of Spring, with a shared acknowledgement of of the sacred and Divine that transcends borders and differences.

When everyone is gathered around the well head, Sophie invites all to share in some songs and sacred texts.

"Like Fire in the Wood and Water in a Well,

There is a Light hidden in all things.

The Power that makes the ’Om’ turn,

The Spirit of God found within,

The Soul of Man which is One."

After a sharing of sacred and inspirational texts, Merlin leads a procession down to the Vesica Piscis Pool to the chant of:

"Born of Water,

Cleansing, Powerful,

Healing, Changing -

We are!"

Gill Atkinson, custodian of the White Spring, starts the blessing and annointng by pouring White Spring water into the head of the Red Spring flow form.

Somewhere where they can be quiet,

Alone with the heavens, nature and God.

And that God wishes to see people happy amidst the simple beauty of nature."
