Two Day Egyptian Perfume Workshop | 27 & 28 Jan 2018

...fragrance formulas found in sacred Egyptian texts, the bible and the Vedas...

Following on from the success of Marina's Alchemy of Perfume weekend in August, we're excited to have her returning in January next year with a new workshop.

Marina has dedicated decades of her life to the study and practice of natural perfumery and the alchemy of fragrance.

She has studied the history of ancient aromatic traditions and recreated old fragrance formulas found in Sacred Egyptian texts, the Bible and the Vedas.

During this hands-on Sacred Egyptian Perfume Course, Marina will take you on an aromatic journey through Egypt’s fragrant past, and share with you what she has learnt over the years, including a wealth of fragrant formulas that were common in ancient Egypt.

You will learn about the traditional aromatic materials used in the day, the various methods in which unguents, fragrant pastes and incense were prepared, and their uses in Egyptian society, from worship to funerary rituals.

The course will include several practical sessions and cover the following:
•    Egypt’s sacred fragrance tradition
•    Egyptian deities associated with perfume
•    Ingredients used in ancient Egyptian perfumes and incense
•    Making sacred perfumes of ancient Egypt
•    Unguent cones
•    The lotus flower
•    Incense in ancient Egypt
•    Making Egyptian incense

Course fee of £250 includes all oils, ingredients and materials and a light lunch.

This course is certificated.

Marina's previous workshop, the Alchemy of Perfume was oversubscribed so we highly recommend early booking for this one.
